Ghost of a Tale is out on Xbox One and PS4!

Hello all! The day has come at last!

Ghost of a Tale is out on consoles!! 😀

You can find the game right now on the Xbox One store… (note that if you already bought the game when it was in the Preview program you can simply download the final version at no additional cost):

… And the PlayStation store:

Here’s the final trailer:

And the official press release can be found here.

As I already mentioned in the past, a lot of the new tracks have been recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra (directed by none other than Mathieu Alvado himself, the tracks’ composer), but this time you can take a peek at the recording session itself:

Now that the game is out on consoles we need to see if it finds its audience. A lot of the larger websites in the US still don’t even know Ghost of a Tale exists and we regularly receive messages along the lines of “How in the world didn’t I know this games existed!” So word of mouth is and remains to this day the primordial means by which the game stands a chance of reaching its potential audience.

There is no doubts that this release provides closure on a very long journey which started when I hadn’t yet met my wonderful collaborators without whom Ghost of a Tale would not be what it is today.

But right now we’re staying focused on the console version (a patch is already in the works) and then, later, maybe we can breathe a sigh of relief… 🙂

So it actually IS out now? Because I still see the game in the Game Preview section as well on Xbox. But it does show the correct price now.

Could you look into the issue that the game apparently doesn’t seem to be X enhanced?

Oh in that case my bad man. Someone here in this article says it wasn’t X enhanced and I decided to wait with buying it. Because I want to see that game at its best on my X.

Also the store of Xbox doesn’t say X enhanced. But that’s just an error on their part then.

What? How’s that possible? No setting for it in the options menu maybe?

That’s really disappointing. I will wait now. Would you say the resolution is low? I’m on a 65 inch 4k TV, I’m afraid that if the game is 900p or 1080p I’m gonna notice it. This game deserves to be 4k.

Possibly 1080p but its been awhile since i played a game under 4k..it looks a bit pixely the further away things are on screen

I bought this game on the PS4 as soon as it became available on Tuesday and I am loving it! It reminds me of watching Secret of Nimh when I was a kid and I’m having all the good nostalgic feelings! Thank you for a wonderful game and I can’t wait to see what else you have up your sleeves!

I downloaded the Preview when it was first available. When there was an update with more Quests, i said i didn’t want to update as i wanted to wait for the full game. But i gave in and played the demo 6 times.

I am now taking my time. I’m taking notes as i play as i want to give a thorough review that no one but i will care about.

I have found a rather game breaking glitch on my first partial playthrough which i have detailed in the Bugs and glitches forum.

So far, i find the story, atmosphere and characters spellbinding. I hope i can make it to the end.

    Hi
I bought the Game on PS4, and I really love it 🙂
But there is one big issue : the framerate ! Do you plan some patch to improve it ?
    Thank you ^^

Mr. Gallat, you have broken my heart. How dare you make a sumptuous, tiny epic game such as this. You should apologise for populating a small crumbling castle with such wonderful characters.

You pulled a very clever conjuring act. I played the game preview six times, and loved every minute of it.
But you clearly held back on me. You kept the real emotions hidden away in the cracks of the mortar didn’t you. You hid the characters personalities under their hoods and helmets until i played the entire story, forced to unravel them like an acorn hidden under an entire autumn of crispy, fallen leaves; knowing it would render me immobile after the credits started.
You had me thinking about the characters and history while i should have been paying attention at work the next day.

I’ve left a part of my heart in Dwindling Heights. I don’t believe i ever want it back.

Thank you. Such a wonderful game. One of my absolute favourites from now on.

    Hello,

Will there be a patch to update this game to PS5 mode in the future? Or will it just stay in PS4-compatibility mode?
